Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott New York Manhattan/Downtown East

Run down rooms. The toilet never stopped running. They have tub/shower combo with shower curtain. It was clean though. Very pleasant & helpful staff. The complimentary breakfast was nice & hot with good variety. This location is unlike any Marriott I’ve been to. Maybe Marriott’s accommodations have deteriorated. Too expensive for those kinds of rooms. In the heart of Chinatown on the Lower East Side. You’ve got to walk a bit to find a regular drugstore.

Honestly for the price, it was an amazing location and pretty good room. Although room was small, the bed was very comfy and staff were attentive. There were ice water in the lobby at all times, and honestly can't keep stretching how amazing the location was (walkable to World Trade Center, Battery Park, 3 mins from buses that take you all over manhattan, and walk to ferry to dumbo)! Overall recommend if you get a good deal :)

An amazing little place on the edge of China town with easy access to Subway and lots of other places. No issue whatsoever as men in some of the previous reviews. Even the Breakfast is as you would expect ,except the area can get a little tight with a larger occupancy. The beds are clean and so is the bathroom. Enjoying our stay and will probably be back.

Reserved two rooms 3 months in advance. Prepaid for the rooms. I knew I would be a late night arrival, so I called twice in advance to let them know, including the morning of my arrival to confirm. Both times they assured me they had my reservation and noted my late arrival. But those were just words. When I arrived at midnight with my parents, wife, and children, I was greeted with “I was hoping you wouldn’t show up.” They had just one room for me. And hadn’t even tried to make other arrangements for me at another hotel. So they got on the phone to see if they could find us room at another hotel. It was Memorial Day weekend and I could tell they were striking out place after place they called. Finally, at 2:30 AM, I told them to just get me pillows and blankets so we could cram 8 of us into one room for the night. They obliged, but laughed about the fact that they didn’t have any more pillows, just blankets. What’s worse, they did nothing to compensate me for the trouble other than to reimburse me for the one room that they blew the reservation on. The manager was terrible. The front desk clerk was terrible. And even corporate Marriott did nothing to help - they just referred it back to the local manager. Would not recommend.

Good location but OMG the staff likes to crank up the heater like 100 degree. Makes people nauseous, everyone starts undressing the moment they walk in the doors. Breakfast can’t be enjoyed because people was started to feel sick. Even the kitchen workers agreed that many people complained about this. The front desk person has no jacket working all nice but doesn’t realized people are coming in and out dress for the weather outside and the moment they walk in the heat is unbearable. I requested multiple times something be done but second day and nothing has been resolved.
